SUMMARY:Study Tour on “District Cooling in the South Mediterranean Countries”
DESCRIPTION:In the context of meetMED II activities, RCREEE and MEDENER in cooperation with Administrative Capital Urban Development  ( http://www.acud.eg/ )(ACUD) are organizing a training course and study tour about “District Cooling in the South Mediterranean Countries” on March 26th – 27th , 2022 at Cairo, Egypt.\nThe two-day training and study tour event will promote knowledge and experiences exchange in the district cooling field. The first day of the event includes a training course that will introduce the existing technologies and experiences in north and south Mediterranean countries and propose optimal technologies, performances, and implementation mechanisms.\nA study tour for District Cooling Power Stations in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt will also be organized on the second day of the event, which will be an excellent opportunity to exchange good practices and discuss innovative approaches and possible ways forward for promoting District Cooling activities.\nAbout Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region (meetMED) II\nThe Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region (meetMED) project is an EU-funded project, developed by the Mediterranean Association of the National Agencies for Energy Management (MEDENER) and the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).\nFollowing the success of its first phase (MEETMED I, from 2018-2020), meetMED project commences its second phase aiming to enhance the energy security of beneficiary countries (namely Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia) while fostering their transition to low carbon economy. Accordingly, meetMED II will be contributing to the creation of more stable, efficient, competitive and climate-resilient socioeconomic contexts in the targeted countries.\n
