SUMMARY:meetMED Week Day 2: Concerted Action on Buildings
DESCRIPTION:\n\nAiming to foster regional cooperation for energy and climate transition in Southern Eastern Mediterranean Countries, Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region (meetMED) II project launches the first edition of “MEETMED WEEK” from March 28th to 31st, 2022, in Cairo, Egypt.\nThe event acts as a hub to gather policymakers and stakeholders to exchange experiences and discuss the next steps for the decarbonization of the region.\nThe first edition’s purpose is to promote the commitment of national stakeholders for meetMED II project objectives and to initiate a dialogue between high-level stakeholders.\nThe four-day event will focus on the following dedicated topics (one per day):\n• Day 1: Sustainable Energy Investment Forum\n• Day 2: Concerted Actions on Buildings\n• Day 3: Concerted Actions on Appliances\n• Day 4: Monitoring Energy Efficiency\nAccordingly, the event will lead to strategic “take-away messages”, new guidance documents, good practices and roadmaps that will be incorporated into meetMED proceedings to support decision makers in Mediterranean Countries.\nMEETMED WEEK will take place once a year for three years in different countries, with the goal to:\n\nmobilize and engage national stakeholders, local authorities, private sector operators, civil society and population, at regional and local level;\ndisseminate good practices in building and appliances’ sectors;\nfacilitate the development and replication of energy efficiency measures;\nfoster the deployment of renewable energy;\nincrease public awareness and investments in these sectors.\n\n\n\nMEETMED WEEK will become a flagship event for the Mediterranean area as a whole: an ideal place for a high-level policy dialogue where policymakers and the most relevant stakeholders will convene to exchange experiences and discuss the next steps for the decarbonization of the Region.\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\nAbout Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region (meetMED) II\nThe Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region (meetMED) project is an EU-funded project, developed by the Mediterranean Association of the National Agencies for Energy Management (MEDENER) and the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).\nFollowing the success of its first phase (MEETMED I, from 2018-2020), meetMED project commences its second phase aiming to enhance the energy security of beneficiary countries (namely Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia) while fostering their transition to low carbon economy. Accordingly, meetMED II will be contributing to the creation of more stable, efficient, competitive and climate-resilient socioeconomic contexts in the targeted countries.\nDownload the Agenda\n\n\n
