SUMMARY:MED’ObservEER: How to Monitor and Evaluate energy efficiency public policies through a Regional Energy Observatory?
DESCRIPTION:Sharm El-Sheikh – 11 November 2022\n COP27|RCREEE Pavilion – Blue Zone\n05:00-06:30 PM Eastern European Time | Egypt Time\nObjectives of the session:\nMonitoring energy efficiency and Renewables has many benefits for the countries including target settings, evaluations of implemented EE and Climates policies, forecasting in order to better design and implement future policies.\nDuring this session, experts will present the ongoing-work on the implementation of a monitoring system in 8 SEMCs. This project relies on 3 complementary activities in particular the setting of a common energy demand and detailed energy efficiency indicators database as well as for renewables and related energy CO2 indicators with a particular focus on buildings and electrical appliances. These data collections are also essential for energy-demand modelling and prospective, and for following-up on national strategies implementation (NEEAPs). These two last activities are organized in order to facilitate exchanges of good practices among meetMED countries through a series of workshops, particularly for SMECs.\nExperts from energy efficiency agencies of this project will present and comment results and outputs of discussions for these three activities: This experience sharing will be very valuable for all countries which aim to implement such monitoring and evaluation tools for energy efficiency and renewable policies implementation. \nModerator: \n\nDidier Bosseboeuf, Technical and Scientific Advisor, ADEME\n\nPanel:\n\nHossam Al Herafi (RCREEE)\nRayan Mourtada (ALMEE, Lebanon)\nMohammed Ahmed Abd Elmola (MoERE- Egypt)\nPEC/PENRA (Palestine) \nrepresentatives (TBC)\n\n \n\n
