SUMMARY:Jordan Second National Roundtable within the Mediterranean Sustainable Energy Investment Forums
DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the meetMED II “Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region,” project funded by the European Union, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS),  MEDENER ( https://www.medener.org/ ), and RCREEE ( https://rcreee.org/ ) in cooperation with the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development – ENEA ( https://www.enea.it/it/ ) organised “Jordan National RoundTable within the Mediterranean Sustainable Energy Investment Forums” on December 18th, 2024, in Amman.\nThis national roundtable is the second event held as part of the Mediterranean Sustainable Energy Investment Forums. Its focus was on enhancing access to finance for energy efficiency projects. The forum showcased innovative funding mechanisms and best practices for both buildings and appliances, all aimed at supporting the energy transition in the Mediterranean region.\nThe event brought together key stakeholders from the financial sector alongside members of the Permanent Jordanian Sustainable Energy Investment Network, which was launched during the first roundtable in Amman in June 2022. This collaborative effort aims to promote sustainable energy solutions and foster investment in energy efficiency across the region.\nThe MED SEI Forum was formally inaugurated by the Senior Assistant to the President for Sustainable Solutions at RSS, along with a representative from the EU Delegation, EU Commission in Jordan. The forum was divided into three sessions that focused on knowledge exchange regarding finance and investment opportunities, as well as green finance in practice.\nAdditionally, the discussions included insights about the GEFF Program and its support for green finance in Jordan, highlighting success stories in green financing for buildings.\nThe National Roundtable in Jordan is part of a series of 5 national roundtables organised within the MED SEI Forums, setting up an example to be replicated by the other countries. In particular, three regional roundtables will be held within the three editions of meetMED Weeks – the project’s largest annual gathering dedicated to regional EE & RE, and five in other national events.\n
