The meetMED project, funded by the European Union,  in close collaboration with the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) and the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency – AMEE organized the 1st Regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Indicators for Maghreb’s Countries from 13 – 14 February 2024 in Marrakech.

The workshop is part of meetMED II project activities related to implementing a common Regional Energy Observatory Database on energy efficiency indicators “MED’Observeer” in buildings and appliances.

It aimed to present and exchange best practices on the methodology for data collection and calculating energy efficiency indicators of the MED’Observeer regional platform. In addition to addressing the techniques used to analyze energy demand and energy efficiency trends in the Maghreb countries.

The expected outcomes:

• Improvement of the data collection process for the energy efficiency indicators of the Med platform
• Generation of a wider range of energy efficiency indicators
• Ability to produce a more detailed analysis of energy efficiency trends for each of the Maghreb countries
• Development of quantitative data on meetMED countries for the international comparative report on energy efficiency
