Agathe Lacombe

Project Manager

Agathe Lacombe is an international project manager who graduated from Sciences Po Paris (Institute of Political Studies). She holds a master’s degree in Governance and Sustainable Development of Large Metropolises and has been working in Senegal (2017) on the implementation of the first public urban transportation system of the Dakar region (Bus Rapid Transit) financed by the World Bank. She was then in charge of implementing the PEEB (Programme for Energy Efficiency in Buildings) in Senegal. The PEEB in an international initiative put in place by the AFD, ADEME and GIZ, which combine financing with technical and institutional assistance to support developing countries in their transition to low-carbon and resilient building sector. Her skills are particularly focused on policy implementation, capacity building, policy analysis and studies.

Maged Mahmoud

Deputy Project Manager

Maged Mahmoud is a sustainable energy expert and the Technical Director of RCREEE. He has joined RCREEE in 2011, where he played a key role in formulating renewable energy (RE) strategies and introducing respective implementation mechanisms focusing on increased reliance on private sector. Dr. Mahmoud is an active member of the League of Arab States RE/EE Committee and since 2013 he has been leading the regional “Private Investment Promotion Portfolio”, where several business models and instruments have been explored to support both utility- and small-scale developers, and to assess the economic and social impacts. He has also served for 20 years at the Egyptian New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA). Among his key achievements, he contributed significantly to setting the Egyptian RE 2022 strategy targeting 20% renewables share, and in the design of the “best-fit” policies and measures for the strategy implementation. He deeply contributed to planning and contracting several megawatts of wind energy projects amounting to more than 700 million USD. Dr. Mahmoud holds the “Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research Award for Development and Innovations in Renewable Energy” since 2001. He has managed and contributed to over 40 research projects and studies in the sustainable energy fields in collaboration with national and international organizations.

Asmaa Ahmed

Communication Manager

Asmaa Ahmed holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication from Cairo University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Paris Eslsca Business School. She is a senior communication analyst with more than 12 years of experience at International Non-profit Organizations. Her most recent post was as a Communication Expert at European Union Water Sector Technical Assistance and Reforms Support (Funded by European Union). Asmaa also worked as a Marketing Communication Consultant at many energy efficiency projects funded by the United Nations Development Program, where she was responsible for developing and implementation of communication strategies, in addition to the organization of high-level events; she also led many nationwide awareness-raising campaigns.

Federica Brazzoduro

Financial Officer

Federica Brazzoduro’s main responsibility is to take care of financial reporting and accounting activities. Her professional background includes experiences in both SMEs and Corporations in the Green Economy sector, especially taking care of drafting calls for proposal on energy and environment at European level. Federica holds a Master’s degree in International Relations with a specific focus on EU economics and finance and a Master in Law, Finance and Economics of International Trade. Federica also attended a Master Class in EU Project Management.
