District Cooling Potential and Challenges Webinar
As part of the meetMED project’s Regional Capacity Development Program on District Cooling, RCREEE, in collaboration with MEDENER, is organizing a webinar focused on District Cooling Potential and Challenges in the national contexts of Egypt and Palestine on 25 March 2025.
This event is an integral part of meetMED activities, aimed at promoting energy efficiency (EE) in buildings through capacity building and awareness-raising campaigns centered on bankable demonstration projects with significant EE impact and replicability potential. District cooling systems provide an integrated solution for energy optimization in the building sector, delivering chilled water for both comfort and process cooling. Various global projects have demonstrated diverse solutions and technologies, including snow-based, ground source, and solar heat-based cooling.
The capacity development program will facilitate the exchange of knowledge on best practices, challenges, and barriers to technology dissemination from multiple perspectives: the development sector, construction, and national strategic contexts.
Key stakeholders and development partners from both the public and private sectors will convene to present relevant action plans and methodologies while discussing innovative approaches. The aims of this event include identifying national best practices and lessons learned regarding district cooling deployment in the Mediterranean region, as well as exploring synergies, challenges, priorities, and actionable pathways to enhance the project’s implementation plan.
