
meetMED Final Event
The meetMED Project Final Event took place on 23-24 June 2025 in Brussels, marking the culmination of four years of innovative work aimed at fostering energy efficiency measures in buildings and appliances across eight beneficiary countries. This significant event gathered national agencies, climate and energy experts, regional institutions, and engaged stakeholders to share the results of the project’s efforts and discuss future steps for promoting energy and climate transition in the Mediterranean region.

Over the two days, participants explored the progress made in developing innovative solutions to enhance the implementation of energy efficiency (EE) measures and improve countries’ energy mix, particularly in the building and appliances sectors.
The meetMED Final Event took place LIVE from Brussels over two days and include both strategic and technical sessions:
Day 1 – High-Level Strategic Session
- Roundtable 1: Regional Strategies for Energy Efficiency and Governance This session addressed national frameworks, institutional reforms, and financing mechanisms for scaling up EE and RE. Bringing together European and Mediterranean actors working to align strategies, policies, and market incentives.
- Roundtable 2: Energy Efficiency in Buildings – From Policy to Implementation This roundtable highlighted technical and operational pathways for implementing EE measures in buildings, with contributions from national agencies and experts involved in sectoral reform, regulation, and energy performance upgrades.
- Roundtable 3: Empowering Local Authorities – The Road to meetMED III A forward-looking session focused on decentralization, multi-level governance, and empowering municipalities; addressing SECAPs, access to finance, capacity building, and local engagement in the green transition. Each roundtable will feature contributions from the European Commission, MEDENER, RCREEE, national energy agencies, and key regional stakeholders.
Day 2 – Technical Session
The event featured insightful presentations, panel discussions, and case studies that highlight key achievements and the real-world impact of the project’s initiatives. Additionally, there were ample opportunities for networking, collaboration, and idea exchange, creating a platform for meaningful conversations and partnerships.
