meetMED is the Sustainability Partner of Cairo Sustainable Energy Week 2023

We are delighted to announce that the meetMED project funded by the European Union is the sustainability partner of “Cairo Sustainable Energy Week” organized by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), at Ritz Carleton, Cairo, Egypt from 01- 03 October 2023.

The three-day conference aims to discuss, analyse and evaluate the opportunities and challenges facing the member states countries, and the region in drawing up and implementing their national sustainable energy policies, while focusing on how to ensure easy and reliable access to energy services for all the segments of society.

meetMED dedicative panel held on 2nd October entitled “Financing sustainable energy, scaling up investment flows and catalysing development”. Bringing together high-level panelists representing the Mediterranean Association of National Agencies for Energy Management (MEDENER), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), Jordan, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development(ENEA), Italy, Energy Efficiency expert (DFA), Egypt,  and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).

Public funds are not enough to achieve the energy and climate goals, additional funds are still needed, and public funding should become a catalyst for private financing.

The need to step up investments in sustainable energy, and in particular in energy efficiency, is now more crucial than ever to achieve the clean energy transition and the targets for decarbonization.
