The framework of meetMED II “Mitigation enabling energy transition in the Mediterranean region: Focus on Energy Efficient Buildings and Appliances” project, MEDENER/ADEME in cooperation with RCREEE & Administrative Capital Urban Development (ACUD) organized a Regional Consultation Workshop with the aim to present the planned activities addressed to enhance the development, adaptation and replication of district cooling technology. The event took place on November 17, 2021.
The event brought together key stakeholders and development partners to present relevant action plans, methodology and expected outcomes. It identified possible synergies, challenges and priorities and mobilize efforts to enrich the project’s implementation plan.
Key and relevant national best practices and lessons learned on district cooling deployment in the Mediterranean region were presented allowing experience exchange between NMC and SMC. Additionally, speakers discussed the dissemination of the upcoming capacity development activities in addition to the identification of involved local experts and national stakeholders, the introduction to ongoing national initiatives and the preparation of upcoming activities and meetings.
